I have been noticing online and utube people having tipplers that have caps or shell crests on their heads,I dont recall the tipplers I ever seen having any type of crests at all,does anyone have more info on this ?Please inform me where that came from and has it been around for a while and I just never noticed ????

They have been around for a while, but perhaps not in your area, not sure where you are at. The caps were bred into the tipplers that were kept in the New York City area for many decades now. The "caps" come from breeding into the tipplers the trait that was originally developed in flying flights. Flying flights come in plain and capped. The kind of tipplers that you are looking at were often more than not referred to as tiplets. They are flown in large stocks in the New York area even to this day. They are often flown for a number of hours, although they are not the type that have developed into long-time flying record breaking birds. I think it's the sort of thing that it just depends on what your preferences are.
